The last remaining survivor of what was once a genuine Cinelândia and now remains so only in name, the Odeon is also the focal point of a host of cinematic events all year round, not least the Rio Film Festival. One, very large, theatre with deliciously sink in-ably soft seats and a regular dip into the independent film scene with a fresh and original programming thanks to the Cacaça Cinema Club and Maratona do Rio to keep film lovers hooked. The Maratona takes place on the first Friday of the month, with three films shown back-to-back for R$24 and DJ Jorge Luiz keeping the punters awake between them as the reels get changed over.
