At the top of this small Catete shopping mall sits the equally diminutive São Luiz cinema, with four simple screens that are a far cry from the marble-lined finishings of the original 1930s theatre, the first to be opened outside of Centro. Things get extremely busy at the weekends so buy your ticket well in advance for any new releases, and then go and soak up the atmosphere in one of the numerous bars along the ever-morphing Rua do Catete until show time.
