Tucked away on the top floor of a downtown mall filled with computer repair shops and mobile phones, Shin Miura offers Rio's very own take on the classic Tokyo sushi bar, with a reputation that ensures it is rarely short of packed for the duration of the minimalist opening hours. Much of that comes from the 40 years throughout which it has served the city's businessmen and more adventurous gourmands first-class fish, but the chef, Nao Hara, is also a key part of the attraction. His tasting menus (R$120-$160) are what lift Shin Miura out of the ordinary and into the truly innovative, bringing tropical flourishes to the art of sushi and sashimi making.
