Rua Lavradio might be the home of beautiful old furniture stores and restoration, but only one of them has the illumination side of things sewn up and that is Lavradio 158. Towards the bustle of Avenida Mem de Sá, the entire ceiling of this Aladdin's cave of all things glowing is filled with chandeliers, pendants and bulbous delights, dusty, dirty but ready to be shown a little love. Smaller ceiling lights range from R$280-$600, while the big guys can fetch a heftier price tag of R$4,000, but the fun is also in the smaller delights like the PacMan ghost bedside lamps (R$180) that will appeal to those with one foot still firmly in the 1980s.
