The home of Antarctica beer, Bar da Boa might not have the history or reputation of a Carioca da Gema or Democráticos, but you can still get a pretty solid night out here in the heart of Lapa. On possibly the busiest corner of Mem de Sá, Bar da Boa has recently been kitted out inside with a shiny new interior, complete with Antarctica beer vending machines, and is always packed at weekends. Rodas de samba are on a dependable three nights a week, but the star attraction is undoubtedly the beer itself, with memorabilia from the Brazilian brand's history lining the walls. You'll find the big screens here for sporting events, and a respectable menu of old favourites also featuring some left-field inclusions such as fish and chips.
