MOBIX on Rua Lavardio has been selling desirable pieces of classic Brazilian furniture for ten years and the selection of chairs and lights is supplemented by some equally exquisite art and photography for those with an eye on style. A classic 1960s Sergio Rodrigues Poltrona Moleca chair (R$13,000) sits alongside gorgeous egg-shaped wooden magazine racks and yes, the ball chair (R$9,000) in the window is an original. For the most part the furniture is for filing under if-you-need-to-ask-you-can't-afford-it, but the occasional gem for under R$1000, such as the disco-esque pendant lightshade (R$800) still makes MOBIX well worth an indulgent casual browse.
