Opened in 2009, Barthodomeu is a good, honest, no-frills kind of bar that has the classic open-sided carioca lay out that makes lazing away an afternoon watching the world go by a genuinely worthwhile past time. Said lazing is helped by a decent menu that doesn't veer too far from the standard fare, but does it very well, especially the house mix de petiscos (mixed platter) (R$40.70) that takes in carne seca (sun-dried meat), sausage, ribs and fried manioc and the seafood equivalent (R$42.30) with battered prawns, squid, bacalhau croquettes and fish goujons.
