Arriving in Rio in 2006 from its beginnings in the capital Brasilia, CAIXA's addition to the cultural world of Centro contains a small downstairs gallery with ever-changing exhibitions of dependably dynamic design, photography and painting. Upstairs is a simple café, two cinema rooms and several larger exhibition spaces that have seen some of the more interesting shows in the city in recent times including the late Keith Haring and the annual trawl through the World Press Photo award winners.
