A treasure trove of artisanal handicrafts is ready to be explored at Laranjeiras' little gem Pé de Boi, with plenty of art-naif, hand-painted ceramics and rugs from artists across Brazil on show. Some pretty amazing and out-there moulded animals (a four-foot wooden crocodile anyone?) take up a lot of the showroom and could do the same at home for anyone with enough space and imagination to take them on board, but the artwork (from R$80) and wooden banana bunches (R$65) will take up less room and less budget too.
