The delicate designs and transfers on ceramic tiles created by the talented Calu Fontes have been a hit in a number of establishments around the city – they grace the bathroom walls of recently-opened café-bistro Lady Fina (Rua Loefgreen 2,481, Vila Mariana, 2359 2080). Oriental symbols, 1920s pinup girls and beautiful birds dotted with flowers in bright colours or in simple black and white, liven up vases, pitchers, salad bowls, teapots, teacups and other household objects, at prices from R$25 per tile (15cm x 15cm) to R$3,000 for a 1m-tall vase.
