With an ever-changing roll call of independent designers and creative craftspeople selling their wares, you’re bound to fall in lust with something at Cada Qual. Here’s how it works. Each designer takes on a minimum-three-month lease in what is a retail collective of sorts. Their store front? One of the 150 white display cases that line the walls of the recently-opened, compact space.

It’s a win-win model, providing a showcase for designers without the pressures of corporate retail, as well as fostering the type of healthy competition that keeps creative designs in demand in São Paulo – a city all-too-dominated by shopping malls and mainstream retail. 

But the biggest win is to be bagged by us, the lucky shoppers who can pick up everything from quirky gifts to one-of-a-kind clothes. Some of the best emerging brands to look out for include Minimizou and their rocker-style shorts and shirts, romantic dresses by Karina Caldeira, and Tote Me, selling printed tote bags. Look out for the work, too, by students of nearby Escola São Paulo, which has its own display case.

Cada Qual is just a couple of blocks the other side of Avenida Paulista from São Paulo’s original, trailblazing ‘collaborative store’, Endossa, but is still a rare, eclectic gem in Jardins – best known for its haute couture and pricey boutiques.
