This repertory theatre in Gávea is considered one of the most progressive of the city-run venues. Once known as the Teatro Planetário (not surprisingly as it annexes the impressive dome of the planetarium) it was dedicated solely to independent productions until 1994 but has managed to retain that spirit with small dramas and monologues featuring in amongst the more mainstream pieces.
