On Praça Tiradentes sits the uninspiring looking Teatro João Caetano, but despite the shabby appearances of today it still hosts some of the best performance arts in the city. Not to mention the fact that it was inaugurated way back in 1813, making it comfortably the longest-standing stage in town. Comedies, musicals, and occasional concerts take to the stage, and celebrated Brazilian choreographer Deborah Colker has aired her two latest shows here to rave reviews.
