It may not be what the city has been crying out for, but Focaccia brings the essence of the Italian wine bar to Rio and in its first few years has become a huge hit, leading to more locations opening throughout the city. Centro, Leblon and Shopping Leblon now host the restaurant, all offering a wider selection of top notch sandwiches than you would be likely to find elsewhere.

All are served on two types of focaccia: the square Roman, heated in a hot stone oven, and the rounded ligure, typical of the Ligurian Riviera. All are pretty damn delicious, but don't miss the brie with parma ham and rocket.
