The great and good of Leblon unite at Alvaro's to put the world to rights. The decor is reminiscent of an old-style country restaurant, and the menu follows suit with a famous Saturday feijoada (meat and bean stew). A daytime family favourite, at night the hungry beer swillers descend for the pasteis - fried pockets filled with shrimp, cream cheese or palm heart. Considered some of the best to be found in Rio, they really hit the spot with an accompanying glass of ice cold chopp.
