This excellent multimedia centre in Flamengo is an incongruous but welcome addition to the neighbourhood. Telephone company Oi is responsible, hence the telephone museum, but the exhibition spaces have been occupied by such national and international names as Marcus Chaves and David LaChapelle, and are a lively proving ground for visual and performing arts. Upstairs there is a decent café with a rooftop terrace, perfect for a restorative cappuccino and cake complete with, of course, internet connection. A second space has followed in Ipanema (Rua Visconde de Pirajá 54, 3201 3010) with a stronger focus on music events.
