The reconstruction of the Port Zone in Rio's Gamboa neighbourhood to the north of Centro may be taking rather longer than anticpated, but four of the huge warehouses are already receiving a glittering array of events both indoors and out on the very edge of Guanabara Bay. The industrial spaces are a playground for event organisers, whether for the Noites Cariocas live music series which put the area back on the map or the impressive annual fashion bashes that bring some much glamour to this deprived part of town, and as the investment into the area continues, so they become increasingly sought after party locations.
