The Largo das Artes is a beautifully restored contemporary art exhibition, lecture and creative space in downtown Rio, designed to act as a stimulant for the globalisation of Brazilian art via international exchanges, with the focus very much on young, emeerging talent. Artists with workshops here include Gabreil Netto, Marina Fraga and Gabi Gusmão, and 2013 sees visiting artists from as far afield as New York, Beijing, Lisbon and Albania.
