Hailing from Presidente Prudente, in the interior of São Paulo state, Reinaldo Lourenço is known for his impeccable understanding of the feminine form. After studying fashion in Paris, he started working aged 18 as an assistant for Brazilian designer Gloria Coelho, who would become his wife of 25 years. The couple split up in 2009, and their son, Pedro Lourenço, has also gone on to work in fashion, presenting his first collection at São Paulo Fashion Week, aged just twelve.

Reinaldo Lourenço has participated in São Paulo Fashion Week since its inception, and has been dubbed the ‘hi-glam Brazilian designer’ by British Vogue. His Summer 2012 collection was inspired by diamonds, with bright, boldly-cut pieces and an eyebrow-raising return of the shoulder pad. The Jardins store is surprisingly understated – a long, cool hall of a room, with high racks lining the walls. Shopping Cidade Jardim also has a store.
