After passing through the dramatic mirrored doors at the entrance to Casa Mauro Freire, you first arrive in the salon's bright, minimalist boutique, featuring a variety of beauty products, cosmetics, home accessories, handbags and baby clothes.

The hair studio is on the second floor, accessed by a lovely wooden staircase. With comfortable, cushioned chairs and a loft-style ambience, the salon offers spa treatments, massages and waxing in addition to the classic wash and cuts. Freire designed the interior himself, creating an atmosphere at once casual and glamorous – steeply angled wooden beams give an intentionally homey vibe, while stainless steel studio lights bring a dash of Hollywood to the Jardins location.

In accordance with the salon's ‘home’ concept, Freire has included an eating area on the third floor, where two-dozen diners can be comfortably seated in a breezy space bathed in natural light. An outdoor terrace provides solace for smokers who’ve been craving an afternoon fix – there’s no smoking in Mauro Freire’s house.
