You’ve got to watch your back, hombre, when it comes to Mexican food in this city. One moment you’re ordering nachos and the next you’re being served cheesy Doritos. ¡Ay, que pesadilla! There are a handful of eateries, however, worthy of the Meh-hee-coe in their names – this Itaim spot being a new one amongst their ranks.
With basic decor – fold-away wooden tables, tin plates and lucha libre posters on the wall – and an unambitious menu, Hecho en Mexico is a simple and tasty taquería, and one of the few places in the city where you can get a good feed for under R$20. Team a cold bottle of Dos Equis with the totopos – homemade nachos served with salsa or (slightly bland) guacamole. The tacos with carnitas (slow-roasted, shredded pork, R$14.90) are also a good choice.
The ‘Pe Efes’, short for pratos feitos (a basic midday meal) come in lucha libre wrestler portions, piled high with meat, rice, refried beans and guacamole, and an optional fried egg (R$15.90-$17.90). We weren’t surprised to discover that the menu was put together by São Paulo’s queen of Mexican cuisine, Lourdes Hernández, a Mexican journalist who runs the closed-door Mexican restaurant Casa dos Cariris (read more on closed-door restaurants).
We’ve yet to scope out the territory here in the evening, but we think the margarita machine and the brightly-painted open courtyard at the back would make this the perfect setting for a cheap, cheerful night out.

O lugar é bem legal e a parte de traz lembra o Mexico ... Comida boa, bem temperada ... Caro $$$$ para pratos pequenos, burrito com o recheio que não vale o preço ... pedi para trocar 2 ingredientes por 1 ingrediente (guacamole e molho mex pelo sour cream) e disse não ... O atendimento é razoável para baixo, pois nem sentamos direto o garçom veio pegar os pedidos e ficou esperando até escolhermos e na hora de pagar também ficam em cima. Bem tem gosto para tudo, mas não volto e nem recomendo.... Há lugares melhores com porções maiores, mais barato na região da Paulista. The place is cool and the back patio remember Mexico ... PRICY $ $ $ $ for small plates, burrito with the stuffing that NON worth ... asked to trade 2 ingredients for 1 (mex Sauce and Guacamole for sour cream) and they said No. ... The service is reasonable to down because we barely sat down the waiter came to get the orders and stood still there until get the order and we asked for the bill the waiter waited until we pay. Well would not returned and recommend .... There are better places with larger portions, but cheap in the Paulista region.

TERRIBLE RESTAURANT!!!! It poorly represents good food in Mexico, plus it's a sad terrilbe place!
