Could the name of this upmarket bar be intentionally synonymous with vacuous blathering? Or is it simply an acronym for its location, on busy Avenida Brigadeiro Luís Antônio, opposite the chic Hotel Unique? Either way, it’s on the chic side of things when it comes to both clientele and pricing, with cocktails around the R$20 mark.

On the bright side, there are plenty of imaginative drinks to choose from, like the Spicy Blá – passionfruit juice with vodka, sparkling wine, and a fresh chilli garnish. The well-heeled crowd flits between the tables and the darker space around the bar where, by the light of glowing brand names (Dunhill, Red Bull, Chivas Regal), they pack in tight for a mix of flirting and gold digging, leaving next to no room for dancing. Expect to queue to get in, and queue to get out again.
