Following the success of the original Adega Santiago restaurateur Felipe ‘Ipe’ Moraes has opened a second location on the roof of Shopping Cidade Jardim. Amazing views, beautiful large hanging lamps, classic leather chairs and chunky wooden tables give the place an old-money air to go with the impressive old-world winelist – just don’t go mad at the top end, where you can pay as much as R$1300 for a Portuguese Reserva Casa Ferreirinha.

Spain and Portugal are the inspiration for the menu, too – a mix of tapas as well as mains that include steak and bacalhoada (salt cod and potatoes baked in a wood-fired oven; R$145 for two people). We tried an excellent tostada – rustic toast loaded generously with grilled artichokes, pesto and Parmesan (R$28), and an overly chewy plate of battered squid (R$45).
