Named after the Irish genius James Joyce’s notoriously difficult novel Finnegan’s Wake, this is perhaps the most traditional and authentic Irish bar in the city, and a cosy spot to while away a few hours in the company of some well-poured pints. Regular rock bands and a darts board keep punters entertained, or for a more cerebral evening join in the annual ‘Bloomsday’ event on 16 June to commemorate the life of James Joyce by reading sections of his last novel Ulysses.
