Manekineko is synonymous with sushi in Rio, one of the best-loved Japanese restaurants among cariocas and a fact reflected in their continuing appearance in neighbourhoods across the city. Besides the ever-popular hot filadélfia rolls, sushis and sashimis, a contemporary array of hot options fill the menu such as tuna chips, miniature towers of encrusted salmon and even the omnipresent queijo coalho makes an appearance. If decision proves too difficult, the all-you-can-eat rodizio (R$63-$70) covers everything on the menu, meaning while it certainly isnt cheap, you can undoubtedly get value for money if you bring enough of an appetite.
