On the edge of Cosme Velho sits this intriguingly beautiful little square full of the faded glory and paintwork of the once-stately homes that surround it. Not necessarily worth a trip across town especially for, this is really just another of the city's intriguing little curios, but for anyone taking the tram up Corcovado it is only a ten minute walk uphill. One of the old neighbourhood's true hidden gems, here once resided the royal apothecary and his blends of syrups and medicines for the regal sore throat.
