Lapa's sharp DJ bar hangout Barzinho adds the now-legendary Tuesday night vinyl-only party Ya'Ya High-Fi to its roster as musical encyclopedias Marcelinho da Lua and DJ Montano up sticks from a long-held residency at Studio RJ. What began as the perfect after-party to the weekly Jazzmania night in Ipanema became a watchword for good music with an ever-changing list of guests like DJ Nuts gleefully stepping up to dust off their finest 12" and 7" records. The move to Lapa looks like breathing new life into the format, but the new address and earlier start won't affect the bargain admission price and quality pick of tunes.
