The small, well-designed Mono, with retro decor and an excellent musical lineup, opened its doors on the down-and-dirty Rua Augusta in 2012. There's a pickup truck in the lounge suspended above an old TV, and the music resonates from speakers embedded in 1950s refrigerators. Make yourself comfortable at the counter, or squeeze onto the sofa that extends along the wall all the way to the dancefloor, pulsing to the beat of drum 'n' bass and dubstep on Thursdays, nu-disco and house on Fridays, and an eclectic mish-mash on Saturdays.
