Elídio Bar website

Originally opened as a café by a family of Italian immigrants, who run it to this day, Elídio Bar is in the traditionally Italian neighbourhood of Mooca. Framed reviews and football memorabilia cover the walls, charting the fifty odd years since the bar opened.

The main draw here are the acepipes – a buffet of up to 100 different types of antipasti laid out on top of the bar. You’ll find everything from Brazilian cod balls to Spanish hams and chorizo alongside the likes of Gorgonzola cheese and a Parmesan wheel. The popular feijoada (pork and bean stew) draws a large, local crowd on Saturday afternoons. The only downside here is the somewhat limited choice of beer.
