Comprising one main hall with a capacity of 4,000 and two smaller lounges, Vivo Rio has thrived whilst the city's former live music treasures like Canecão have faltered. An annex of the Museum of Modern Art and set within the Aterro park at the northern end, the setting is as beautiful as the building itself is stark and modernist. The largest dance music events (Skol Beats, Fatboy Slim) and some of the more diverse national and international live attractions (from the Buena Vista Social Club to regular stand up comedy nights) can be found here, whilst the terrace plays host to major corporate events and one off club nights.
