Until now Barra's coffee scene has been somewhat limited to chain outlets and juice bars, but with the opening of As Claras in late 2010, Vanessa Martuscelli looked to change that with her delightful little tea shop in Itahanga, set back from the main drag at the Eastern end of the neighbourhood. Serving up a delicious array of breads and cakes to eat in or take home, the madeleines will definitely score points brought home to anyone wondering where you've been all afternoon.
