Amongst the easels of the Parque Lage art school and on the edge of the rather attractive central pool of this old mansion sits the D.R.I Café, a welcome update of the old Café du Lage, the previous incumbent more popular for the setting than the menu. Now with accompanying live music at the weekends, the essence of the place remains the magic, set around the same waters that Snoop Dogg liked so much he shot some of the video for Beautiful there. The perfect retreat for a Sunday brunch or a mid-afternoon slice of cake, the quiches and sandwiches (from brie and Parma ham to aubergine and tomato chutney) with a glass of wine make for an indulgent midweek lunch as well.
