Set at the foot of the immense apartment block opposite Vila Madalena Metrô, this homely Fran's Café is a favourite with night owls and homeward-bound clubbers. There are tons of magazines to browse and a menu full of decent, straightforward food – try the Croque Monsieur with a leafy salad. A great, simple spot for a solo dinner and a read.
