The SP Night Market – an itinerant food and craft fair – is back, bringing together a hand-picked selection of enterprising expats and Brazilians who set out their stalls, selling everything from handmade jewellery to art, Brazilian-themed handbags and keyrings, and hand-painted scarves and lamps.
The latest edition will be housed in a handy central location, just a stone's throw from Avenida Paulista, and unlike its first editions in 2012, is more of an afternoon affair. Go with cash and an appetite – a handful of chefs and local producers are often invited, too. We've sampled gourmet hotdogs made with his British- and South African-style sausages from Colony Sausages; tacos and tostadas from Mexican chef Lourdes Hernández; and samosas from Indian chef Deepali Bavaskar, the latter both regulars at the hugely popular O Mercado food fairs. For a sweet finish, don't miss Sophie and Theo's Cupcakes.
