This large, open-air space is a part of an immense convention and event complex that includes a domed arena and the 530-metre-long Sambódromo. The venue hosts concerts, shows, festivals, expositions and business fairs with the infrastructure and capacity for massive events: it can hold 30,000 people. There is usually a free shuttle bus from the Portuguesa-Tietê (Line 1) metrô station for the biggest events.
