The Hangover was a comedy hit, while 2011’s Bangkok-set sequel was slammed (but still a box-office success). This is the final episode in the series, and the original cast (including Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis) are present and incorrect. One for... Men behaving badly. Still.

Monsters University (Universidade Monstros)

Twelve years after Monsters, Inc. comes this long-awaited prequel to the Disney Pixar favourite. It’s set ten years before the original and drops in on the colourful critters during their college days. John Goodman and Billy Crystal return as the voices of Sulley and one-eyed Mike. But after disappointments like Brave and Cars 2, can Pixar raise its game? One for... Families and Pixar fans.


World War Z (Guerra Mundial Z)

This Brad Pitt v zombies blockbuster arrives with a troubled history of delays and reshoots. Not to mention a trailer without a decent close-up of a zombie. Still, don’t write it off just yet. One for... Brad Pitt fans and fright freaks.


Man of Steel (O Homem de Aço)

Is Superman about to take us to the dark side? Christopher Nolan, the man behind the Batman trilogy, is a producer and co-writer of this origin tale starring virtually unknown Brit actor Henry Cavill. One for... Those who prefer their heroes with an edge.

The Lone Ranger (O Cavaleiro Solitário)

The Wolverine (Wolverine: Imortal)

The X-Men franchise just keeps on giving. Hugh Jackman, fresh from Les Mis, is back as the clawed one, and headed to Japan. This is not a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine; it’s a standalone film. But even with the Oriental spin, will Marvel find this is one X too far? One for... X-Men addicts and Les Mis fans hoping for an eyeful of Hugh with his top off.


Pacific Rim (Círculo de Fogo)

Fanboy hero Guillermo del Toro (HellboyPan’s Labyrinth) is back behind the camera for the first time since 2008’s Hellboy II for this epic sci-fi-cum-monster movie. It tells a tale of giant beasts fighting giant robots, so expect it to be loud. And crunchy. One for... Boys, big and small.


Jurassic Park 3D (Parque Dos Dinossauros 3D)

It’s 20 years since Steven Spielberg scared the jeepers out of audiences with lifelike dinos roaming around a wildlife park created by a billionaire philanthropist and a team of crazy genetic scientists. Now the film’s being re-released with the one element that was obviously missing first time round – 3D! One for... Everyone!


One Direction: This Is Us

Morgan Spurlock, the filmmaker behind McDonald’s doc Super Size Me – what crusade is his new film taking us on? Er, none. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at boy crooners One Direction. The World's End

This is the third film from Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg – the team behind Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. It’s another genre- teasing Brit comedy, this time featuring a bunch of blokes (including Martin Freeman and Pegg himself) who embark on a pub crawl during the apocalypse. One for... Steve Coogan has finally got round to making a movie based on Norwich’s finest DJ.
