Mônica Filgueiras, who sadly passed away in November 2011, was a highly respected veteran of the São Paulo art scene. She had only recently teamed up with the gallerist Eduardo Machado to form this new joint gallery, featuring edgy street art by the likes of Ozi, Bugre and Gejo as well as works by the Modernist Italian-Brazilian sculptor Victor Brecheret, whose immense Monumento às Bandeiras statue sits in front of Parque Ibirapuera.
