Opposite the palace and set within 75,000 sq m of parkland, the Fundação Maria Luisa e Oscar Americano has an outstanding collection of paintings, furniture, porcelain, fans and weaponry from imperial times onwards. The gallery is Oscar and Maria Luisa’s former home, underneath which you’ll find a charming, if pricey, tearoom.
