A major makeover in 2008 revitalised this stark, concrete building, which is home to a collection of 30,000 photos, films and records. There are recorded statements by modernist artist Tarsila do Amaral and Tom Jobim (the father of bossa nova). It also stages frequent, innovative temporary exhibitions and retrospectives.
